Pathways to
Healing Initiative
Musical Medicine for
Mind, Body, and Spirit
The Pathways to Healing Initiative harnesses the transformative power of music to foster healing and well-being in individuals facing physical or emotional challenges.
Pathways to Healing Initiative Progress
Phase 1 of the Pathways to Healing initiative is underway, with the Taylor Music Group bringing instrumental music into medical facilities such as MUSC, Roper St. Francis hospitals, Hollings Cancer Center, and more.
Pathways to Healing Initiative Roadmap
Phase 1 — The Taylor Music Group will bring instrumental music into medical facilities such as MUSC, Roper St. Francis hospitals, Hollings Cancer Center, and more.
Phase II — The Taylor Festival Choir (TFC) will record an album entitled “Pathways to Healing.” This album will feature music commissioned or chosen to represent some facet of the healing journey and will be released on a major classical commercial label. Repertoire will include “Among Angels” by Will Todd, “Lord Thou Hast Been Our Refuge” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, “When the Violin” by Reena Esmail, and commissioned works by Dr. Chelsea Loew and Dr. Brian Galante.
Phase III — The TFC will produce music videos for selected tracks of the “Pathways to Healing” album and incorporate testimonials from cancer patients and oncologists. We will provide these music videos for use with patients at centers such as Hollings Cancer Center, MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Mayo Clinic, Texas Oncology, and others.
Phase IV — The TFC will perform the repertoire from the album in a multi-state concert tour. We will also send smaller ensembles into medical facilities to perform directly for patients in large and intimate settings. These performances will incorporate both choral and instrumental music.
Phase V — Our effort to harness the power of music for healing purposes is ongoing. TMG will continue collaborating with medical centers and professionals to explore innovative ways to use our musical resources effectively to foster healing.
